Happy New Year! As the bell rings in 2022, a new year begins. On behalf of CEIBS and all CEIBSers, we would like to extend our sincerest New Year’s greetings to all of you.

There was no shortage of business insights from our faculty this year! From dual circulation and the impact of COVID-19 to the importance of innovation and chasing sustainability, we count down some of the most read CEIBS Knowledge pieces in 2021.

Despite the global challenges faced over the last two years, CEIBS students and alumni continued to combine passion with purpose and found themselves on the path to success and significance this year.

For large corporations seeking to be more entrepreneurial, partnering with startups is an effective way to bring in fresh ideas and entrepreneurial spirit, a CEIBS Executive Forum audience heard this evening.

December 16, 20121. Shanghai – This year marks the 20th anniversary of China’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Speaking at the 2021 China International Import Expo (CIIE), WTO Deputy Director-General Anabel Gonzalez noted that, by 2020, the country’s total import and export volume had reached more than nine times its 2001 level. Moreover, twenty years ago, China was the world’s sixth-largest importer and exporter of goods; by 2021, it had become the world’s largest exporter and the second-largest importer of goods.

Helping the world chart a recovery path from the pandemic was a key goal CEIBS contributed towards this year, by sharing its knowledge on a regular basis with the world's top media. A diverse range of pressing matters were discussed with influential outlets all over the globe, as reporters and journalists turned to CEIBS faculty to help make sense of a planet which continued to change rapidly in 2021.

December 6, 2021. Shanghai – CEIBS has partnered with global luxury group Kering to promote the development of green innovation in the fashion industry. The partnership was on show during an award ceremony today at the Museum of Art Pudong (MAP).

From launching new programmes and keeping up with global rankings to new faculty appointments and running offline events and forums, 2021 was a year to remember at CEIBS.

New alliances, a future orientation, passion and effective organisational planning are needed to develop talents capable of powering competitive organisations.
